El Topo is a tattooer born in Caracas Venezuela, trained & raised between the streets and schools in Caracas, Gent, Mexico City and California.
He cofounded Topo Copy <the utopic print lab for creative peoples> in Ghent in 2009. Where he performed the duties of art director, printer and co curator.
He then picked up tattooing in 2013 and started traveling the world until setting up his studio La Holy Mountain Tattoo in Mexico City in 2017.
Topo is a nomad tattooer with a fixed base in Mexico City now. He has worked and collaborated with world class shops and artists like Lyle Tuttle’s tattoo shop in San Francisco, Scott Campbell’s Saved Tattoo in Los Angeles and NYC, Kim Saigh & Shawn Barber’s Memoir Tattoo in Los Angeles, Frank Chavez’s Flying Panther in San Diego, Tinta Distinta in Tijuana, Tattoo Magic (now Red Kirin) in Madrid, Antiek tattoo in Amsterdam & Johe Tattoos in Zierikzee and the list goes on.
